The world falls beneath your feet. Dirt, grass, trees, buildings, and cement sink into the ground by crooked columns. They jaggedly crash down together, making the earth feel like an earthquake. You slip and fall down the oblivion while the ground slides down and away. There is nothing to grab on to. Everything disappears into dark and you're left to die. When will you hit bottom? You cover your wet eyes with your arms as you continue to slip down into the vast nothingness. Your heart pounds hard and your stomach flips. The rush of adrenaline surges through you. The dark sky glooms over the polluted city. The empty sheet of blackness covers up the sky, making sure to hide the stars and moon. Drops of water, fresh from recent rain, fall down off broken poles and buildings. Some of the bent street lamps light's flicker on and off. Puddles crowd up sidewalks and cracks. A few stray dogs and cats, fighting and growling, patrol around the destroyed shell of a city. Out in the destruction, a aluminum garbage can in a damp alley tips over.
Animals and children alike forage for any scrap of food. A pre-adolescent kid crawls out of the fallen can. Mike crawls out with a piece of moldy bread in her mo
